Trustpoint Xposure said brands win in AI search when generative systems choose them, not just find them, as it released its Q3 2026 AI Visibility Report on July 22. For law, consulting and accounting firms, the practical signal is simple: citation authority now matters as much as ranking.
The report defines “brand citation authority” as whether a brand is chosen, referenced and surfaced by generative systems across legal, medical, financial and technology categories. That makes the concept measurable in principle, but the release does not identify the models, prompts or answer-engine settings behind the audit, so the benchmark is being framed by Trustpoint Xposure rather than by a fully exposed methodology. The company says its AEO certification is a formal internal validation standard for producing AI-trusted, citable, repeatable outcomes.
The July report sits inside a steady sequence of 2026 claims from the firm. Trustpoint Xposure said on Jan. 12 that it was setting an industry standard as the only AEO-certified PR agency for AI search, then said on Jan. 14 that it was the only AEO-certified agency purpose-built to convert public relations into measurable visibility within AI search results. On June 22, it warned that traditional PR agencies cannot build AI citation authority and said the gap is costing professional brands and clients every month. It then announced a New York law-firm initiative on July 10, a C-suite Authority Program on July 14, and a Medical AEO Program for physicians and healthcare professionals the same day. In May, Access Newswire coverage said clients across law, medicine, finance and tech had reported measurable improvements in AI search citation frequency.
The market around it is moving toward the same metric. Mojo Dojo Research said it audited 712 B2B companies and found 89% were invisible in AI search. Breadchaser.ai said it asked ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude 30 buyer-intent questions about three businesses, producing 90 answers and zero unbranded recommendations. Those figures give the new AI visibility market a harder edge than the language around “presence” or “awareness”; the real contest is whether a firm shows up as the cited authority when an answer engine assembles a response.
