About AEO News

AEO News is an independent publication covering how brands earn a place in the answers AI search engines give. We track what gets cited, why, and what actually moves a brand from invisible to referenced. We are not a vendor, a consultancy, or an agency.

What AEO News covers

Answer engine optimization is a new discipline built on old marketing habits: confident claims, thin case studies, and tools that promise visibility they cannot prove. Our job is to report the field as it actually works. We cover seven areas: the AI search engines themselves, citation and visibility mechanics, AEO strategy, measurement and data, platform updates, brand case studies, and industry moves.

Every story starts from a concrete signal: a citation that appeared, a ranking that shifted, a platform change that altered how answers get built. We report what changed, what the evidence shows, and what a marketing or SEO team should do about it.

Editorial standards

  • Evidence first. We report from citations we can observe directly, published research, and on-the-record sourcing. A claim we cannot verify does not run as fact.
  • Vendor claims are labeled. When a platform, agency, or tool vendor makes a claim about its own performance, we say so explicitly and attribute it to that vendor. We do not present vendor marketing as independent findings.
  • Corrections. When we get something wrong, we correct it. Material corrections are noted on the article with the date of the change; we do not quietly edit a published claim.
