Kevin C. Roy released The Coherent Mountain on Aug. 5, packaging GreenBanana SEO’s AEO push as an operator’s playbook for founders, marketers and agency leaders chasing citations in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot.
GreenBanana SEO had already framed the book on a July 21 page as The Coherent Mountain: The Operator’s Playbook for Winning SEO, AEO, and AI Search, with a subtitle emphasizing practical steps for ranking, testing and measuring. The launch was paired with a $1.99 special Kindle offer, and the book runs 238 pages, a short price point for a market still sorting out whether AI search visibility is a new discipline or just SEO with a new label.
The methods in the pitch are recognizable to anyone already running search programs. Roy centers the work on choosing the questions a brand wants to own, building pages and assets that answer engines can parse, and then monitoring how AI systems respond over time. That maps closely to the way strong SEO teams already work with intent research, structured data, crawlable page structure and ongoing visibility tracking, but with a different target surface: citations inside answer engines rather than blue links on a results page.
GreenBanana SEO’s own services pages reinforce that direction. The company says its AEO work helps brands get discovered in Claude and Claude AI responses, as well as Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, which puts Roy’s book inside a broader consulting and content strategy rather than a one-off product launch. The firm also published a related piece on the LLMs.txt Standard on April 21, another sign that its AEO material is being built as a sequence of operational notes around how models read, parse and surface brands.
The bigger test is whether The Coherent Mountain gives operators a new framework or simply packages familiar SEO habits for a new interface. By December 2025, Julia McCoy was already posting AEO training aimed at ranking in AI Overviews, a sign that marketers had begun treating answer-engine optimization as its own lane. Roy’s book arrives after that shift, and its value will be measured by whether teams can use it to turn testing, measurement and authority building into a repeatable program.
