Conductor pushed a "system of record" for answer engine optimization into the enterprise stack, making AI visibility the thing it wants large marketing teams to measure, govern and report. The July 22 move was not new framing for the company; on April 20 it launched Enterprise AgentStack and called it "the industry's only system of record for AEO."
That language matters because enterprise software lives on records, not slogans. Conductor's AEO and GEO benchmark pages say it is measuring AI referral traffic, AI market share and performance in Google's AI Overviews, and its health-care benchmark page says the report establishes "the first definitive benchmarks for AEO (answer engine optimization) in 2026."
The pitch is straightforward: give marketers one place to see where they appear in answer engines, why they appear and which assets are driving those citations. Conductor's February 4 webinar, "Navigating the AI Search Shift: The State of AEO / GEO in 2026," said 94% of leaders are increasing AI search investment, which puts AEO on the same budget and reporting path as the rest of the marketing stack.
Conductor has kept pressing the category from several angles. On April 20 it posted a YouTube video, "Introducing AgentStack: The AI Agent Platform for AEO," and its event pages later pushed other AEO programming, including "The New Metrics of the Web: AEO Benchmarks to Shape Your 2026 Strategy." The company is not selling a one-off feature so much as a measurement layer built around AI search.
The market around it is already getting crowded. Optimizely launched a full AEO platform on June 10, showing that the race to define answer-engine tooling is no longer theoretical. For enterprise buyers, the real test is whether Conductor can become the place where AEO data, ownership and workflow live, the same way SEO platforms became the system of record for rankings, links and technical fixes.
